The sensor element is housed in a machined 316 grade stainless steel tube that is mechanically robust and waterproof. The digital thermometer resolution can be programmed from 9 to 12-bits. An alarm function with non-volatile, user programmable upper and lower trigger points is available for applications requiring action when preset temperature thresholds are reached. Each digital thermometer has a unique 64-bit serial code, allowing multiple thermometers to function on the same 1-Wire® bus. For long cable runs it is recommended that an external power source is applied to VDD. For shorter cable runs the unit may be operated in "parasitic power" mode by shorting the VDD pin to GND.
